Headin' down south, ya'll!!!

OK! So I'm leaving New York for the South (Atlanta, GA and Charlotte, NC) tonight and I definitely can't wait! My friend Sheena invited me to have dinner with her family for Yom Kippur — I'm excited to see how the Jewish celebrate their holiday. I'm so hyper at work and the coffee I'm drinking has nothing to do with it. My oh my, I can't wait to taste the good 'ol food down there!

I'm thinking if I should attempt my mediocre southern accent, but I don't want people to hate me if I butcher it... haha.

I'll post pictures when I return next week!

Viva Mexico!

Dude, only THREE more days until I leave for Mexico. Just looking at these resort pictures makes me want to get away from the NYC cold ASAP!!! I'm halfway done with my packing. I really hate taking my sweet time packing if it's not the day before. I thought my procrastinating days from college were over... guess not. It's funny that people think I'm going to CancĂșn to party like crazy college kids. My sister, her husband and I are actually gonna stay at a more laid-back touristy spot for people who just want to relax and get away from the stress, even though the place isn't far from CancĂșn at all.

--------

I had lunch yesterday for the first time with this cool girl, Elham, which I just befriended at work. She introduced me to her crazy co-workers—that'll be so funny if she reads this. *waves* So after eating at the cafeteria, we went outside to Starbucks and I was holding my cardboard tray like a dork. I ordered a Green Tea Frappucchino and not only does it look too green and weird but it tastes horrible! I figured that Green Tea bubble tea is good, why not try this drink from Starbucks? Boy, was I wrong about the taste. Well, I guess I taught myself a lesson... to never order that again! Plus I'm not a regular Starbucks customer so who knows how many calories I took in. Thank goodness I go to the gym.

Haha I snapped this picture with my camera phone at work and thought, "This is going on my blog!"

Finished hibernating

Jeebus! It was ridiculously cold today that I totally forgot it was summer. Dear Mother Nature, it's still August... give us a break but don't roast us too much either, haha.

I just came home from watching the Simpsons movie. I wasn't too thrilled but it wasn't bad either. I still don't understand why so many advertising dollars were put into it though. The TV show has been successful for almost two decades and everyone knows about the Simpsons, unless they've been living under a rock. There's no need to create so much hype unless a brand new unknown movie is in the works.

So what have I been up to this summer? Last month I took off a few days from work to relax in Boston and spent one day in Cape Cod. It rained on my way back to NYC and luckily not when I was on vacation. I'd have to say my favorite part was whale watching. I saw a few minkes and humpbacks poke their heads out of the water. The photo below is the best one I got of a humpback. I call him Willy's cousin.

If you live in New York or any other state and think you've had the best clam chowder in your life, think again. Boston makes the best clam chowder (Bostonians say "chow-dah"), hands down!

I hope everyone else is having a great summer. It's hard to believe that it's coming to an end soon =(
