Some Things Should Be Left in the Past

When I see jelly shoes whilst window shopping, I reminisce about the good ol' days when I wore jelly shoes as a little girl. My mom bought me a pair and that's when I thought we both had good taste for once. The only difference between the pair I owned and the ones in the picture above was that mine had velcro (BTW, what's up with the fishes on the inner soles? Must we be reminded that our feet already get drenched in sweat?). I adored them so much until I got deep cuts on both of my ankles — and then I started to detest them after a while. My mom suggested that I keep bandages on because she didn't want the $10 suckers to go to waste. Even at a young age and a tomboy at heart, I thought bandages didn't make very good fashion statements.

Anyway, I see women nowadays wearing these jelly shoes. I'm actually OK with some things from the 80s-90s era, such as tights, vintage t-shirts, etc., but let's leave jelly shoes in the past. If women are going to wear cute shoes, they have to be comfortable as well.

You can always go with Crocs. They're cute and comfortable, but the red clown nose is sold separately!

just something else for girls to adopt from each other, fashion-wise. No comment. [Wait, that is a comment...]
